We have a great, late entry for our annual typo of the year contest. Feast your eyes on Reuter’s report about the recall of “beef panties” in a story that was all over the Web at the end of last week. The New York Times was just one of the publications and sites that picked up the story and published it without applying a proper edit.
Nine of the 11 major Canadian daily newspapers owned by CanWest do not have online corrections pages. Only the National Post and Montreal Gazette have them.
This paper used to have an online corrections page, but it was recently redesigned off the site.
NOTE: MSNBC.com does run corrections for its online reporting. NBC Nightly News also publishes its corrections on MSNBC.com.
None of the six major Canadian English language daily newspapers owned by Sun Media have online corrections pages.
