In 2010, The Press published two articles that concerned Mr Clive Cousins, a Christchurch lawyer. They implied that Mr Cousins was professionally negligent in the preparation of a property mortgage.
The Press accepts that this was not correct, that Mr Cousins had no involvement in the preparation of the documents, and unreservedly apologises to Mr Cousins for any damage to his reputation and personal distress.

A story about Fonterra’s chairman succession yesterday incorrectly reported due to wrong information that Fonterra’s first chairman was the “late” John Roadley. Roadley says he is alive and well and living in Blenheim.

A report on Saturday on the crossbow shooting of an Auckland woman quoted former New Zealand First law and order spokesman Ron Mark renewing his call for the Government to require licensing of crossbows as firearms. Mark’s comments were historical and he has made no recent comment on the issue.

Meaning: they dug up an old quote and presented it as being new.

On December 6 we published a letter signed by A J Bennett that suggested Mayor Parker was a friend of David Henderson and that the Mayor had been photographed brandishing dildoes and “doobies” or marijuana joints. Through his legal counsel Mayor Parker has confirmed, and we accept, that he is not and never has been a personal friend of Mr Henderson and has never been photographed holding a dildo or a doobie. It was, in fact, a thin raffle ticket. The Press apologises to Mayor Parker for any embarrassment resulting from publishing those errors.

This definitely would have made the ’08 Crunks if it had been published prior to my year-end post.
