AN ARTICLE published on page 4 of the November 14 Eastern Courier Messenger titled ”Anzac Hwy history razed” contained several inaccuracies.
It stated the surgery was passed down to Dr John O’Brien’s son, also named John O’Brien, who consulted from the Kurralta Park surgery until he retired in 1966.
In fact, Dr O’Brien (junior) never became a general practitioner, never consulted at the surgery, and did not retire in 1966.
It also stated Dr O’Brien (senior) raised his family in the rear half of the surgery. In fact, he raised his family in the front half and consulted from the rear.
The errors were made by the reporter.
