Regret the Error

IN THE Weekender’s front page report of 9 February 2008, entitled “Farmworkers were ‘moved to make way for ponies’ in Plett”, a number of inaccurate and untrue statements were made of and concerning Mr Clifford Elphick, and the Company, Gem Diamonds Limited, listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The article confused Letseng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd, which is partly owned by Gem Diamonds Limited and of which Mr Elphick is the chairman with another company, Letseng Diamonds which is incorporated in Guernsey. There is no connection whatsoever between Mr Elphick, Gem Diamonds Limited, Letseng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd and any litigation or fraud involving the late Brett Kebble and JCI.
The article was incorrect in that respect and The Weekender apologises to Mr Elphick, Gem Diamonds Limited and Letseng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd for any harm and embarrassment which the article may have caused. The Weekender regrets the error.
