A beauty of a misquote

In a report on page 3 of The Australian on April 10, “Girl from the Gong to take on the world”, it was stated that a contestant at the Miss World Australia beauty pageant had said she “believed in injustice and inequality”. This was incorrect. The contestant said: “I believe in justice, equality and integrity.” The Australian apologises for the error.

- CanWest Newspapers (Canada)
  Nine of the 11 major Canadian daily newspapers owned by CanWest do not have online corrections pages. Only the National Post and Montreal Gazette have them.
- Detroit Free Press
  This paper used to have an online corrections page, but it was recently redesigned off the site.
- Fox News
- Global TV (Canada)
- MSNBC News
  NOTE: MSNBC.com does run corrections for its online reporting. NBC Nightly News also publishes its corrections on MSNBC.com.
