About those “morons, thugs, cowards and liars”

COUNCILLOR Neil McEvoy has asked us to point out that he did not call the people of Rumney and Llanrumney morons, thugs, cowards and liars, as suggested by a letter from Geoff Parry (Viewpoints, March 12).
He says his comments (published in May 2009) were referring only to those involved in an altercation with him at City Hall, in which his car was dented and scratched, over plans to build a school on parklands in Llanrumney.

    No evidence of the damage was provided. He could have used the side entrance but chose to confront the mostly elderly protesters to elicit a response he could use to undermine their position by portraying them as morons thugs liars and cowards. An old tactic of his.
