		<description>Astonishing indeed, that the Gazette, the newspaper of record for a city of nearly half a million people,  published four substantial articles penned by an unpaid college intern with so little guidance or scrutiny. The paper&#039;s editors should have recognized and been suspicious of polished, sophisticated prose that sounded far too seasoned for a person of such limited experience (see links to examples cited by Mr. Thomas).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Ms. MacArthur broke a cardinal rule, and the Gazette made a big boo-boo. I hope they are re-evaluating the role of interns in their news organization.</description>
