nytbanner1An article last Wednesday about the use of 25-year-old frozen sperm in the breeding of Yes, the black standard poodle who won the nonsporting group at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, may have left an incorrect impression about one laboratory’s role in the dog’s development. As the article correctly mentioned, sperm from Yes’s father, Snapper, was collected and preserved by the International Canine Semen Bank in Oregon. After publication, Canine Cryobank in California, another laboratory that had also preserved some of Snapper’s sperm, pointed out that it was that sperm that produced Yes. Link
