Know thyself

A story on Thursday’s Page One about the possible sale of the American-Statesman misstated the parent company of Valpak. It is Cox Enterprises. The story incorrectly reported the name of the company that sold the Statesman to Cox in 1976. It was Newspapers Inc. Also, while the sale of the Statesman and other properties will be used by Cox Enterprises to pay down debt, Statesman Publisher Mike Laosa did not say it was unacceptably high debt. Link
