In “Dirty Smoke Signals” (May), we mistakenly reported that the Black Mesa coal mine is located east of Phoenix. It is roughly 300 miles north.

    Though movies aren’t the subject here, this reminds me of the 1969 flick Krakatoa, East of Java even though Krakatoa is west of Java. And of the movie The Green Berets which I’m told (and which I can’t confirm because I’ve never seen it and likely won’t), featuring an over-the-ocean sunset in one scene. Difficult, since all that water was east of Viet Nam. East of Java? Dunno.
