Reports of One Laptop Per Child’s demise exaggerated

A headline on the cover of the Business Day section on Saturday referred incorrectly to the status of the nonprofit organization One Laptop Per Child. The organization, which seeks to put low-cost computers into the hands of the world’s poorest children, continues to operate; there has been no “demise of One Laptop Per Child.” (An article inside that the headline referred to reported that the chip maker Intel had withdrawn its support from the organization.) If they can’t even get shipping to Canada right, I have to wonder how they are going to manage the Developing world.
