Rest is fine

Several factual errors were in the story, “Group by group: Council doles out some funding,” which appeared in Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Herald-Tribune. Some of the community groups mentioned in the article were identified as receiving money, when in actuality city council did not make any motions to fund them. The groups include the Glory Garden, Grande Prairie Schools Snack Program, and the Grande Prairie Elks.
Other corrections are:
-Sunrise Program did not receive a funding increase to $50,000 but have received funding of $32,451 for 2008 and 2009, and 33,100 in 2010.
-The Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association received approximately $91,000 for free of service along with its membership fee increase.
-The Centre of Creative Arts received $125,454, not $105,454 as said in the article.
-The Grande Prairie Ski Association will only receive $40,000 for 2009 and 2010, and not all three years as mentioned in the article.
-The Prairie Art Gallery was reduced $30,000 in requested funding and received approximately $95,000 in 2008, $353,9432 in 2009, and $364,302 in 2010.
-The Community Village received $9,000 for its downtown portable toilet program.
The Daily Herald-Tribune apologizes for the errors.
