Agreed--as a resident and reader, I find nothing "swift" about this action. Or surprising.

The paper has always tiptoed around difficult issues and played ball with the powers that be. The current handling of the outrageously blatant plagiarism is no different.

A year for a decisive action is not what I would call quick and fair. Blair is black--it's an ole white boy's network at the Newspaper. From beginning to end, their decision is fear-based, and THAT is quite evident. What company taunts it's own ethics? A quite and quick exit was due eight months ago--it's a small newspaper, and the editor doesn't run a tight ship? I don't believe it!

As usual, the people who suffer are the good reporters at the company that have their reputations tarnished by association.

However, I am glad to see that the paper acted swiftly and decisively on this matter, that speaks highly about the editors there.
