Not an official statement
An article about
the Chesapeake Turtle Derby in the Maryland section Sunday incorrectly
attributed this statement: "We are the only state that, until recently,
ate our state reptile." The comment was made by Gregory Pokrywka,
co-founder of the Mid-Atlantic Turtle and Tortoise Society, and not Bob
Wall of Baltimore’s Department of Recreation and Parks. Link
