Fonda film not “red-baiting”
‘Sacco and
Vanzetti’: The review of the documentary "Sacco and Vanzetti" in
Friday’s Calendar section referred to the 1942 Henry Fonda film "The
Male Animal" as "red-baiting." Fonda’s character in the movie, a
college professor, is accused of being a Communist, but the film itself
does not fit the adjective. Link
