AN article
published in The Australian on October 9 (”Cattle kings in chemical
spray probe”, page 5) concerned aerial spraying with chemicals in
excess of the label rates on two Queensland farms. Readers should not
have inferred from the article that Fred Ghirardello was in any way
responsible for or involved in the recommendation, selection or use of
the chemicals. In fact, Mr Ghirardello is a forensic agronomist and
loss assessor who was retained subsequently to investigate the
incident.
