The line identifying Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld with his
Sept. 11 Op-ed article incorrectly listed him as secretary of state.
In
the same day’s Point of View article "Competence might have foiled the
plot," Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s previous position was
identified incorrectly in one reference. Rice, as national security
adviser (assistant to the president for national security affairs) was
a member of the National Security Council, not head of the National
Security Agency. Link
