Regret the Error

IN our March 25 article
"Countdown to disaster", we alleged that Carol Vorderman made the job
of Countdown’s production crew difficult because she was so demanding.
We now realise this is completely without foundation. We accept that Ms
Vorderman has had an excellent, extremely close working relationship
with the programme’s production team for more than 23 years.
We
also accept that the caption to our accompanying front page photograph
of Ms Vorderman "Has TV Carol become a hate figure?" was unwarranted
and caused offence to Ms Vorderman. We apologise sincerely to Ms
Vorderman for the hurt and distress caused.
