Times-Picayune sued by man it labeled a murderer

TimespicayThe New Orleans Times-Picayune today has a brief about a man suing the paper:

A Jefferson Parish man is suing The Times-Picayune for publishing
his photograph with a caption incorrectly identifying him as a murder
suspect.

Mark J. Cambre’s suit says the newspaper mistook him for Mark T.
Cambre, who was on trial for first-degree murder in the slaying of
retired New Orleans police officer Kelly Marrione. Mark T. Cambre was
convicted.

The photograph of Mark J. Cambre was published Aug. 13, 2004, on
the front page of some of the newspaper’s editions. A front page
correction was published the next day.

We can’t locate the correction in Factiva. BTW Mark T.
Cambre was convicted of killing a retired police officer. Not exactly something you want to be linked to. For a similar mistake/lawsuit combo, check out this.
