So many truths in one correction

Azstar_logo_small_1This correction from The Arizona Daily Star highlights two big complaints about journalism. First, there’s the complaint about the lack of minorities in the newsroom and at journalism schools. Then there’s the old adage that journalists can’t do math. Apparently, both are true.

A story Tuesday on A4 about an accreditation review of Arizona State
University’s journalism school contained an incorrect percentage in
reference to the decline of minority faculty members. Minority faculty
members dropped from four to two over the past six years, a percentage
of 50.
