This correction should make freelance writers and copy editors cringe together:
A story Sept. 4 on D1 about new stores at Tucson Mall included two paragraphs attributed to Curt Hazlett, a free-lance writer for Retail Traffic magazine. Hazlett says he was not interviewed for the Star story and that his comments were taken from an article he wrote for the May 2003 issue of Retail Traffic.
People! Cannibalizing each other is the last thing we need to start doing. Oh, wait…that’s been going on in the form of freelance contracts for about 20 years. Carry on.
